World Class Leadership Requires Commitment and Hard Work!

You can improve your leadership skills, like any worthwhile craft, by continually updating your knowledge and by constant practice.

I am a Business Psychologist and I work with senior executives from companies - big and small. They want to be the kind of executive that their organisation would like them to be: -

* passionate

* visionary

* motivating

* empowering

* highly effective at building and managing teams

* committed to and able to make a positive difference

Deep down, however, they feel they are failing because they think that they do not 'have what it takes". The most they can hope for is to be a good manager.

(Hint - We'll look at the difference between leaders and managers further on in this web site).

Think of some of the attributes of the great figures in society.

In your mind's eye, do these people tend to look like George Clooney with the wisdom of Ghandi, the commitment of Mandela, the fire-in-the-belly of Margaret Thatcher and the oratory and values of Martin Luther King?

Is this how you long to be thought of?

But, there are not many of these kind of people around - are there?

There are lots of ordinary, everyday people who have positions of natural authority in any group or community of people.

The truth is that many ordinary people, doing ordinary things like running a school or church or playgroup - as well as those people who run big companies or even whole countries - are all leaders.

In fact, in any organisation, you can find natural authority at any level, not just at its top.

Using this site and the techniques and skills you will learn about here, will help make you a better, more effective, more strategic individual, with that all-important 'helicopter' view.

No matter what situation you work in - whether you have been at the top for years or are just new in the job - in this site you will find all the resources you need, to improve your performance and grow your capability.

Why should you commit to working on the craft of leadership?

* You will become more confident in your role, freeing you to attract better clients or people to work with you

* Your team and company achievements will grow and improve immeasurably

* Your personal reputation will grow and increase giving you more choices in your life and work

* You will become much more employable - a more valuable commodity in todays market-place which means you will never have to be worried about finding that next job again.

* Your reputation will increase, giving you more choice, more financial independence and more security.

* The people who work for and with you will become more empowered, making their working lives more meaningful and will naturally increase their motivation and their performance.

* You will enjoy more control of you and your family's future - ensuring more happiness and contentment for yourself and those you love

And, not least, the world, as a whole, will benefit from having more and better leaders - in all walks of life.

I am a business psychologist with 15 years experience of working with executives both at business schools, in their places of work and privately. I work with people who want to become the best they can be in their corporate roles.

I am truly passionate about peoples' potential to grow and develop themselves in their work and in their lives.

My own story has involved recognising and acknowledging my own leadership qualities and the best place to exercise them. It has taken quite a while to get comfortable with my own strengths and weaknesses in this area.

I want to share with you what I have learned and experienced.

Your journey will be different from mine and from anyone elses - but there are strategies that you can usefully adopt and also there are common traps best avoided.

In the world of work - where as adults, we spend most of our time, a generous, clear-sighted and empowering leader can turn the mundane into an exciting journey of discovery and personal achievement.

A bad one can reduce us to despair and even make us physically and psychologically ill.

We are a global, instant community. We 'do our own thing', we are independent and don't easily follow rules and procedures - but we still crave authoritative figures who can help us make meaning of our lives.

The cult of celebrity is about seeking leaders for our new society - where media and fashion are more important to us than politics and religion.

We inhabit a complex web of social, political and economic networks - international, national, local and neighbourly - we are crying out for effective, ethical and inspirational leaders -people who make a difference, not just for themselves, but for those around them.

Let's get going on our journey together right now!
