My Career
After my first degree in Psychology, shortly followed by an MBA from London Business School, I launched myself on an international executive career, which started with American Express as Marketing Development Manager for the Benelux and reached completion as International Managing Director with Virgin Vision Ltd.
Here I had 22 countries reporting to me and spent much of my management time developing teams to deliver against forecast and plan.
At the point that Richard Branson sold the company, I decided to return to the subject of my first degree and studied for a Masters in Occupational Psychology and became a member of the British Psychology Society.
After four years as Head of Personnel for The Mail on Sunday, I decided that I would gain management development experience working as an independent business psychologist, which I have been enjoying since the mid 1990s.
I truly am passionate about helping people use the opportunities open to them to develop and grow and to become better human beings - whatever path they choose.
I find this is particularly important in the field of leadership, as evey aspect of our life requires us to be or to follow inspirational leaders.
I have developed and run my own on-line business, the Global Workplace, an on-line recruitment facility for the current and former students of the top-class business schools worldwide. To launch this business, Geraldine raided in excess of £3 million in equity finance and successfully sold the business at the point at which she had recruited membership from 28 of the best, international business schools.
The Visioning Process
My recent work has been in the development of the Visioning Process. This programme employs non-rational, creative means to explore unconscious motivations and to unlock creativity.
It was first used on the Senior Executive Programme at London Business School.
Visioning is now increasingly used by private companies, such as Scottish Widows and Actavis who want to develop deep-level awareness, mutual trust and enhanced effectiveness - in a short period of time.
I work with Dena Michelli, (denamichelli.com) and, to-date, the Visioning programme has encompassed team-building, cultural change and personal development.
The key is to balance learning which is both cognitive (left brain and rational) and sensory (right brain and emotionally engaging.)
I also act as an executive coach for selected senior professionals.
My approach is centred around careful attention to the client’s own presented needs; I will typically support the change process with a full psychometric assessment of the individual, coupled with 360 feedback from the candidate's professional colleagues in order to establish an objective profile of needs to be addressed.
My commitment is to encourage everyone I work with to merge their life and work experiences into a fulfilling whole based on an understanding and acceptance of their real identities and authentic path in life.
For a personal and confidential discussion about your own needs or requirements, whether personal or corporate, please do contact me - I guarantee to answer all queries, personally.
